OpenText appoints marketing head

Kevin Cochrane to lead planning and implementation of marketing strategies

Enterprise information management (EIMS) software vendor,OpenText, has appointed Kevin Cochrane to its executive leadership team as chief marketing officer (CMO).

As CMO, Cochrane will take charge of strategic planning and implementation of the company's global marketing efforts in the EIM market, which is projected to reach $19 billion in the next four years.

Cochrane will be reporting to OpenText president and chief executive officer (CEO), Mark Barrenechea.

Barrenechea said Cochrane was chosen to his product and solution marketing experience, and will bring OpenText a passion for brand, customers, products, and sales enablement.

In commenting on his appointment and the company, Cochrane said, "With the influx of social media, a growing number of mobile devices and a greater dependency on the Cloud, there is a tremendous need among organisations to better manage and take action on the growing amounts of enterprise information. OpenText is...well-positioned for continued rapid growth and leadership of the EIM market."

Cochrane joins OpenText from Adobe Systems, where he started in 2010. He held several senior executive roles at the Adobe, including digital marketing business product marketing vice-president.

During his 16-year career, he has also spent time at Day Software, Alfresco Software, and Interwoven.
