A partnership between virtual instrumentation vendor National Instruments Corp. and Politeknik Negeri Jakarta is now in the works, as the two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU announced towards mid-November in a National Instruments press statement calls for Politeknik Negeri Jakarta to establish an authorized training center, the LabView Academy for National Instrments' graphical and programming platform for engineers.
The platform, a system design application, enables engineers to scale from design to testing and from small to large systems.
"Southeast Asia's largest economy, Indonesia is heavily dependent on growth from industries such as mining and large scale manufacturing, which require highly-skilled engineers and technical specialists," said the statement as it explained the rationale between for the MoU.
Engineers and Scientists
Founded in 1976, National Instruments is based in Austin, Texas and provides both engineers and scientists automated test equipment as well as virtual instrumentation software.
In December 2011, it opened a Jakarta office, extending its aggressive direct sales model to support customers in various manufacturing industries and the academe.
Politeknik Negeri Jakarta is an Indonesian and state-run institute of higher learning for the training of engineers and other technical professionals.
No further details were announced on the strategic partnership.
