Manulife Appoints John Brisco as Asian CIO and COO

He will focus on Manulife's Asian digital initiatives and information functions.

Manulife has appointed John Brisco as Chief Information Officer and Chief Operations Officer for its Asia Division.

Based in Hong Kong, Brisco is responsible for leading the company's information functions technology and digital execution strategies in 12 markets across Asia, as well as regional operations services including talent management and information risk management.

Announcing the appointment, Roy Gori, President and Chief Executive Officer, Asia, said: "I'm delighted to welcome John to Manulife. He has considerable global experience in the insurance and consultancy sectors, and will play a crucial role as we look to deliver leading-edge digital technologies that enhance the buying experience of our customers."

Brisco joins Manulife from QBE Insurance where he was Chief Information Officer, Emerging Markets, and Chief Operations Officer, Latin America. "I'm excited to join Manulife, one of the world's leading financial organisations. I look forward to driving innovation in our technology, and optimising our operations within the company so that employees can deliver on our customer promise," said Brisco.

Prior to QBE Insurance, John was an Executive Director at Ernst & Young and played a key leadership role in the management and growth of the firm's Asia Pacific Advisory business. He has also worked for AXA in Europe and Australia where he headed up a number of business and transformation roles.
