Brocade has appointed Larry Tam as its managing director for Hong Kong and Macau.

Based in Hong Kong, Tam will be responsible for driving the overall growth and performance of the company's networking business in the two Special Administrative Regions. He will report to Eric Yu, Vice President for Greater China.

With 30 years of technology leadership and management experience, Tam was most recently the country manager for Hong Kong and Macau at Juniper Networks. Prior to that, he was the marketing director for Asia Pacific at Level 3 Communications, a multinational telecommunications and Internet service provider.

"As a major financial and commercial center in Asia Pacific, Hong Kong's enterprises and service providers are rapidly transitioning from legacy IP network architectures to New IP infrastructure to encompass cloud-based technologies, software-based networks, and support for Big Data and other disruptive innovations. With Tam's experience, knowledge and connections, [we believe that he'll be able] to help our customers transition smoothly and propel Brocade's business to the next level," said Yu.

"I am excited to join Brocade at this important juncture where networking and the data centre are undergoing major transformative changes. I look forward to working closely with our customers and partners in Hong Kong and Macau to help them reap maximum value out of their networks as a platform for innovation," said Tam.
