Internet growth has increased demand for technology jobs in China, according to global executive search firm CTPartners that has issued a list of China's hottest technology jobs for 2013.
The top five hottest tech jobs in China this year will be vice president on-line marketing, head of e-Commerce, head of mobile Internet, vice president of R&D, cloud technology, country general manager and enterprise technology (storage or security software).
The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) recorded about 51 million new Chinese Internet users last year and this number could grow to 800 million users by 2015.
More people in the nation are able to use broadband due to wider penetration and the country is currently experiencing a mobile tech boom thanks to decreasing smartphone prices and affordable gadgets.
This trend has increased the demand for senior executive talent in Digital Technologies and Cloud Services arena.
Difficulty in finding experienced professionals
In China, mobile technology usage was recorded at 74.5 percent in 2012, and availability of affordable mobile phones means almost anyone can buy a cell phone to access the Internet.
Despite the boom, the companies are not able to completely tap this lucrative market as they are not able to find the right person who can do this for their business.
"Companies are racing to tap into new online consumer markets but are finding it exceptionally hard to find experienced professionals who understand the complex Chinese consumer market and new mobile technology, and how to pull that all together," said Train Luo managing partner, China with CTPartners.
China-based companies are searching for executives who can create and implement strategic marketing programmes to drive sales, membership and website traffic.
Executives who can develop online strategies are in great demand and so are people who can manage both the content side as well as the device side of the Mobile Internet business.
Large enterprises in China are recruiting professionals who can help the development of the next generation of software and services delivered on demand over the Internet via remote data centres.
Medium to large technology companies want professionals that can help them further penetrate the market, especially in the storage and security software space.
