When asked what makes a good work environment, good relationship with colleagues (cited by 73 percent) tops respondents' lists, followed by work-life balance and job stability (67 percent, and 60 percent, respectively)
And interestingly, the survey indicates that it pays to ask for a pay raise. Almost half of the respondents say they have asked for or negotiated a pay raise before and most of them (91 percent of women and 69 percent of men) received a raise as a result. But they often find it stressful to ask for more money or benefits.
In November 2012, Accenture conducted an online survey of 4,100 business executives from medium to large organisations in 33 countries and a minimum of 100 respondents from each country participated, with some exceptions.
