FRAMINGHAM, 4 MARCH 2011 - Project managers are being urged to take part in a short survey to provide feedback on the Project Management National Occupational Standards (NOS).

The NOS for IT and telecoms professionals and IT users are developed and maintained by sector skills council e-skills UK, which runs the National Skills Academy for IT.

The standards outline the specific skills needed for IT job roles, and are developed with employer input to ensure their relevance in the real world. They are also used for writing job descriptions, assessing staff and developing training programmes.

The Project Management NOS makes similar specifications for project management-related roles in all industries. They are designed to be generic standards that can be applied anywhere, including in IT.

The National Skills Academy for IT is calling for professionals with any project management-related roles to have their say in the anonymous, online survey, which will close at 5pm on 4 March.
