GMC Software Technology appoints new sales VP for ASEAN

JR Wong’s initial focus will be to drive GMC’s presence further into new verticals markets

GMC Software Technology (GMC) has appointed JR Wong vice president, sales for ASEAN effective March 2014.

Based in Singapore, he will report to Johnny Lu, managing director Asia/Pacific, the Customer Communications Management (CCM) and output management company said in a statement today.

With the ASEAN region growing at 35% year-on-year in 2013, Wong's initial focus will be to drive GMC's presence further into new verticals markets, including telecoms, FSI and banking, the company noted on the statement.

Wong has been in the IT industry for 23 years and has a proven track record in driving sales and market growth in Asian regions. He has held senior regional channel and management positions with leading technology organizations in Asia, including CA Technologies, Compuware and Novell.

"I'm delighted to be with GMC, and look forward to helping more businesses and their customers experience the benefits from CCM," said Wong. "My initial focus will be on expanding the customer base in Singapore."

Wong has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, majoring in Network Communications, from the National University of Singapore and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hull.
