Extreme Networks appoints Nelson Soon as Channels Sales Director for Asia Pacific and Japan

Cloud provider Extreme Networks today appointed Nelson Soon to head up channel sales in the Asia Pacific region.

High performance Ethernet switch provider  Extreme Networks today appointed Nelson Soon to head up channel sales in the Asia Pacific region.

As channels sales director Asia Pacific and Japan, Soon will work to secure new partners, increase market share and will be responsible for designing business models that aim to optimise the company's existing channels base.

Extreme Networks senior vice president, Gary Newbold said Soon had a flair for IT implementation and Channel management.

"We are very excited to have Nelson on board," he said. "I am confident that his enthusiasm backed by his experience will strengthen our relationships with the channel partners in this region."

Soon previously worked with Ixia as the head of sales for A/NZ, ASEAN and Taiwan for five years, managing regional sales, channels strategy and business development. He also served Agilent Technologies for seven years as channels partner manager.

Extreme Networks provides ethernet switching for cloud, data centre and mobile networks. Based in San Jose, California, extreme networks has more than 6,000 customers in more than 50 countries.
