IT communications firm DWA has snapped up former Symantec marketing director Liselle Walker and Avnet marketing manager Darren Brain in a coup for the Sydney office.
Walker, formerly enterprise marketing director ANZ at Symantec, will take up the role of client services director ANZ, while Brain will act as channel marketing account director.
DWA A/NZ managing director, Kiaran Geen, said DWA had been working hard to bring Walker into DWA in Sydney for some time.
"We're delighted that she is joining us in such an important role," he said.
"Many of our fortune 500 global clients see DWA as an extension of their own marketing department and it's therefore extremely important that our own knowledge and market experience supports the growing needs of our strategic client relationships.
DWA chief executive, David Wood, said Walker had worked with staff from DWA for many years as lead client at Symantec.
"We know how much value she will bring to our agency as we extend the range of services that we provide," he said.
"Bringing market specific experience to our agency is a natural progression as marketing services become increasingly integrated."
Walker said she was delighted to be joining DWA.
"I worked closely with the team while I was at Symantec and I know first-hand what great work they deliver," she said.
"To be able to use my experience at Symantec and Citrix to help DWA extend its footprint in the Australian market is something I'm tremendously excited by."
Brain, previously marketing manager A/NZ for Avnet Technology Solutions, will lead a team charged with providing specialist marketing support to channel clients and vendor clients who are looking to build closer marketing ties with their channel partners.
Avnet Asia Pacific, VP marketing, Michael costigan, said Brain was a highly capable channel marketing professional.
"I am convinced he will deliver real value to the DWA client base," he said.
