Irdeto announced yesterday that Doug Lowther - the current CEO of International Data Corporation (IDC) - will assume the role of the CEO of Irdeto on April 1, following the resignation of former CEO Graham Kill in September last year.
According to a media statement, Lowther has previously worked with Irdeto for over nine years; where his most recent role was the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Irdeto's Digital TV business. Prior to joining Irdeto, Lowther has also held other several leadership roles with companies such as Nortel Networks.
With extensive experience in digital television, IP-based services and security products, Irdeto said that it is confident that Lowther will help strengthen the company's position in providing solutions for pay TV operators, over-the-top service providers, and content owners. It added that Lowther will also play a crucial leadership role in advancing this progress and further enhancing Irdeto's portfolio.
"Doug Lowther is an accomplished and respected executive in the Digital TV industry, and one that Irdeto's employees, customers and partners know well and trust," said Graham Kill. "I am confident that under his leadership, Irdeto will continue its strong growth trajectory."
Following this new appointment, Lowther will be based in the Irdeto Hoofddorp office in Netherlands.
