Doug Farndale has been appointed as Silver Peak's vice president of Asia Pacific (APAC), announced the company in a press release.

Leveraging his three decades of networking and telecommunications experience, Farndale will drive the expansion of Silver Peak's WAN optimisation and software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) business across the region. He will do so by leading the company's operations, channel partnerships and sales in APAC.

"We will aggressively recruit competent channel partners to address the SD-WAN growth opportunity in the region," said Farndale. "Our WAN and virtualisation solutions will deliver cost-efficiencies and open the door for new deployment models that will benefit enterprises, service providers and channel partners throughout APAC."

Before joining Silver Peak, Farndale has held senior positions in sales, engineering, product management, business development, marketing alliances and services. He was once responsible for setting up the APAC-Japan services strategy to Cisco.
