DocDoc appoints Juergen Specht as CTO

He is tasked to create a highly scalable healthcare platform and technical infrastructure to serve the people living in South East Asia.

DocDoc, a digital healthcare portal in Pan-Asia, has appointed Juergen Specht as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Specht is tasked to build "a highly scalable healthcare platform and technical infrastructure that will serve 500 million people living in South East Asia", said Max-F Scheichenost, president of DocDoc.

Prior to this appointment, Specht was CTO for Rakuten Shashinkan. He developed an e-commerce platform, Rakuten Ichiba, which has been used by more than 70 million registered customers. Specht has also led over 200 successful web and mobile launches since 1993.

DocDoc plans to expand operations into three new countries by end 2013. It currently dominates the Singapore market and has a substantive foothold in South Korea.
