The BSA Software Alliance has appointed veteran IT and telecommunications executive Alasdair Grant as its APAC managing director.
He will be stationed at BSA's headquarters in Singapore, and will be responsible for leading strategic planning and execution of anti-piracy programs and advocacy initiatives.
"The Asia-Pacific region is home to some of the most dynamic and fast-growing IT markets in the world. Alasdair brings a wealth of experience in the corporate sphere, both on advocacy programs and in legal matters," BSA general counsel and senior vice president for anti piracy, Jodie Kelley, said.
"His experience and the relationships he has developed in more than a dozen countries will be tremendous assets as BSA continues advocating for the software industry on issues such as intellectual property protection and open, dynamic markets."
Grant previously spent 20 years in APAC for Reliance Globalcom, Level 3 Communications, Verizon Business and AAPT. He also operates an independent consultancy, AC Grant & Associates in Hong Kong.
