Networking hardware vendor, Brocade, has hired Jeff Lindholm to lead the development and execution of its global sales strategy as worldwide sales senior vice-president from March 4.
Lindholm will report directly to Brocade chief executive officer (CEO), Lloyd Carney.
As sales boss for the vendor's entire portfolio, he is tasked with implementing strategies to expand Brocade's customer base and take advantage of new business opportunities that are arising in the networking industry due to trends such as datacentre virtualisation, Cloud, and software-defined networking (SDN).
Lindholm's primary focus will be growing sales revenue within IP/Ethernet networking and storage networking.
He will work through original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and channel partners, as well as system integrators (SIs) and direct sales.
"With the ongoing proliferation of Cloud computing and the continued acceptance of nascent technologies like fabric-based network architectures and SDN, Brocade is well-positioned to lead in the exciting transformation taking place in the networking industry," Lindholm said. "This will require discipline, operational excellence, and high levels of collaboration among teams."
Lindholm joins Brocade from Arbor Networks where he held the role of field operations senior vice-president. During his stint, "he was instrumental in leading the expansion of Arbor's footprint and revenues within its core markets," according to a statement.
Overall, his career spans 30 years of sales and marketing leadership experience at networking and telecommunications companies. Arbor aside, Lindholm has also worked for Juniper Networks and Bigband Networks.
