Moving towards greater efficiency and intelligence in today’s data centre

James Young, Director, Data Centres, Asia Pacific, CommScope | Aug. 26, 2015
The next generation infrastructure for data centres must be agile and modular to support the growing needs for more capacity, says James Young of CommScope.

Setting The Foundation
Like many other developed economies, Singapore enterprises have started looking into building intelligent data centres that prepare them for future changes in the IT industry. While the intent is commendable, to deliver on it means having the right infrastructure in the first place. End users are demanding more data and information than ever, but the network has to be able to support it. So a reliable, next generation infrastructure for data centres must be agile and modular to support the growing needs for more capacity.  The "same old data centre designs" will need to evolve quickly to embrace free cooling and higher data capacities that will enable future growth strategies like the Internet of Things.
