Hiring right in 2015

Emmanuel White | April 7, 2015
The winners in hiring in 2015 are those who are prepared to think beyond the norm.

Putting it into practice:

While hiring managers need to realise that their company brand counts, candidates should realise that their brand counts too, with four in 10 hiring managers (41%) checking candidates on social media in their hiring process. To give themselves a fair chance, candidates must ensure their digital footprint is clean, professional and up-to-date.

Multichannel sourcing

Today's sourcing channels include: blogs, SEO, conferences, events, referrals, networking, associations, LinkedIn, YouTube, media, online advertising, job boards, personal networks and databases, just for starters. To succeed, sourcing needs to go wide and deep.

Putting it into practice:

Hudson's Hiring Report showed that of the top five most effective sourcing strategies just one was purely technical - online job boards.  The rest were all people-based. Tapping into these personal networks is now more important than ever because, as the world becomes more digitally and socially connected, job seekers look more extensively to these networks for trusted advice, based on a strong personal relationship.
