BLOG: A talent economy in the new economy

It used to be that access to capital was the key to business success. In the uncertainty of today’s economy, however, it will be the businesses that are best able to leverage a networked world to fit the best talent to the right jobs who will succeed.

At LinkedIn, we connect talent with opportunity at massive scale, and we're glad to see that increasing numbers of professionals and recruiters agree. There are over 135 million members on the network - an increase of over 60 percent from just a year ago. Meanwhile, more than 7,400 companies use the LinkedIn Recruiter product to leverage data and insights to target and reach precisely the right talent for their needs.

It used to be that access to capital was the key to business success. In the uncertainty of today's economy, however, it will be the businesses that are best able to leverage a networked world to fit the best talent to the right jobs who will succeed. Platforms like LinkedIn have democratized access to information and made this a present reality. Ours is the talent economy, to compete and win in.
