6. Establishing partnerships with comprehensive ecosystems.
There is no need to attempt digital transformation alone today, especially for IoT. Technology vendors and non-technology players have formed open, independent ecosystems to produce solutions that simplify emerging trends like IoT for first-mover organisations. Dell's newly-minted IoT Solutions Partner Programme is one such ecosystem for IoT; there are others like the Open Fog Consortium and the Open Connectivity Foundation.
7. Continuing to innovate.
Never think of digital transformation in terms of a single project or timeframe. Seeking more innovative, improved ways of doing business and engaging customers must be a 24x7 mindset for everyone in the business.
Innovation is everywhere, but it takes the right leadership framework to digitally transform a business and get buy-in from team members and customers. With strategies that provide future readiness for the business and give customers what they want, today, tomorrow, and for many years after, CIOs can ensure their companies are in the best position to innovate and thrive - not just in Asia Pacific, but around the world.
