Anuradha Shukla | Nov. 9, 2011
They collaborate to enable enterprises to manage the deployment of enterprise mobility solutions.

SAP company, Sybase has teamed up with infocommunications technology (ICT) service provider NCS to develop and deliver mobile solutions for the Southeast Asian enterprise market.

Both partners have extensive experience in this technology field and will leverage it to enable organisations in this region to manage the deployment of enterprise mobility solutions.

NCS will build differentiated mobile solutions for this project and these will be powered by Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP), a mobile enterprise application platform and a mobile device management and security solution -- Sybase Afaria.

"Both NCS and Sybase see vast opportunities in the enterprise mobility offering in Southeast Asia," said Rachel Goh, group general manager, business applications and services of NCS.

"By facilitating the integration, enterprise mobility enablement can help meet the rapid explosion of mobile workers and CxOs who are inundating the IT departments with requests to use their personal devices to access the corporate systems."

Mobilising existing applications

NCS and Sybase agreement seems to be right timed as Gartner forecasts global mobile voice and data revenue to exceed US$1 trillion by 2014.

Alliance between the two companies will enable customers to mobilise their existing applications including salesforce application and fieldforce application.

NCS will be responsible for designing and developing mobile applications and provide mobile device management services. Sybase will provide the technical knowledge, product development and marketing support for this project.

"Working with a strategic partner like NCS is critical to helping Southeast Asia enterprises capitalise on the value that mobility brings," said Sivadas Ramadas, managing director, Southeast region, Sybase, an SAP company. "We look forward to leveraging NCS's mobility expertise and its broad reach in the region to accelerate the adoption of mobility solutions and set a new benchmark in the industry."

"We are proud to be adding Sybase technology to our current portfolio of mobility services. NCS has implemented various mobile applications development for our customers in the region, and we believe in providing them with solutions to embrace productivity and efficiencies on-the-go," added Goh.
