BizCloud enters Asia
Business technology provider CSC has now extended its BizCloud to Asia. As of Friday, (March 16, 2012), the on-premise private cloud to be charged as a service offering, purportedly the first of its kind in the world, CSC customers have access to "the agility and convenience" offered by a public cloud and "the privacy, security and control" typically expected of a private cloud.
Company executives have said that BizCloud "gives users all the components needed for a private cloud, preconfigured, integrated and tested, on their own premises behind their firewall" but need only treat it as a subscription, "pay only for what they use and choose from different [grades of] service-level agreement, provisioning and support," and can simply ask CSC to scale up or down workloads according to their needs at any point in time.
Chief Technology & Innovation Officer of CSC in Asia, Bob Hayward expressed his belief that this latest announcement will encourage more enterprises in the region to move onto the cloud. "Asian organisations have been uncertain about the move from traditional IT to the Cloud. As an Asian first, customers can now take a safe first step to a preconfigured, integrated and tested private cloud on their own premises in just ten weeks," he said, spelling out the attraction.
