Premier Farnell will have a new CEO in Laurence Bain, the company has announced.

Premier Farnell provides high service distribution of technology products and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance and repair.

Bain will take up the new role starting 12 June 2012.

The company said in a statement that Bain takes the role as Harriet Green moves to the Thomas Cook Group as their new group chief executive officer. Green has led the distributor through a period of strategic transformation since 2006.

Since joining Premier Farnell in 2002, as chief operating officer, Laurence Bain has been an integral part of the transformation of the business and a founding architect of the current strategy, the company said in its announcement.

Prior to working for Premier Farnell, Bain spent 18 years at Motorola.
