Sandra Ng has been in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) advisory and consulting industry for 20 years. While her technology research expertise is vast and diverse, she is best known in the industry for her Telecommunications knowledge and opinions within the Asia Pacific region. Her ability to discuss broad, strategic and converged issues across the ICT industry enables her to engage with many C-level management teams and technology executives in Asia.
In her current role as the Head of the Practice Group at IDC Asia/Pacific, Sandra leads a team of IDC's senior analysts with collective expertise across the entire ICT industry. This team leverages the core research created by IDC's Asia/Pacific Domain Research Group, through contextualizing the content and increasing its relevance for clients and their businesses. This value creation process enhances the proposition IDC brings to strategy, planning and market intelligence stakeholders. This unique delivery of research content also brings with it IDC's thought leadership analysis and business executive insights for marketing, product management, sales and strategic leadership teams within the client's organization.
Along with the Domain Research team, the Practice Group extensively collaborates with IDC’s Integrated Marketing Programs (IMP), IDC’s Industry Insights and IDC’s Consulting organizations to provide a comprehensive scope of intelligence services to meet the diverse needs of today’s dynamic and complex technology marketplace.
From research to IDC's customized go-to-market services (GMS) to executive roundtables and end-user events, Sandra and her team provide independent and insightful perspectives of market conditions, assisting clients in making informed business decisions and achieving business goals.
Sandra’s role also extends beyond quality research content delivery. She plays a key role in driving forward-looking assessment and analysis, often sharing her market insights and predictions to Asia Pacific management teams and heads of strategy within her customer base. She moderates and engages extensively with the client communities, including both traditional technology buyers and increasingly influential CFO and line of business heads.
Prior to joining IDC, Sandra was with Gartner/Dataquest for more than four years, where she was managing a variety of IT research projects ranging from midrange systems to peripherals. In addition to base unit research, she was actively leading in channel and consulting work.
Sandra has established a keen following within the Asia Pacific media fraternity and is frequently quoted in leading regional business and trade publications such as the Asian Wall Street Journal, Computer World, Telecom Asia, tele.com and Wireless World, and also in locally-based media such as Singapore's Business Times and Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. She is often invited to present IDC's opinions on CNBC Asia, Bloomberg and Channel News Asia. Sandra is also a regular keynote speaker at global and regional ICT conferences.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, Sandra graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Vice President, IDC's Industry Insights - International
As Vice President for the international divisions of IDC's Industry Insights businesses, Cort Isernhagen is responsible for the overall management and research services of the Financial, Manufacturing, Government, Health, and Energy industry sectors in Asia/Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. He leads IDC's "Insights" business units whose dedicated analyst teams provide guidance on industry-specific technology and business process issues facing corporate leaders in these industries.
Prior to this role, Cort was Vice President of Marketing & Business Operations for IDC's Vertical Market business units and New Ventures group. In this role, he ensured that research products in each portfolio fit the needs of the target market, and assessed the market demand for new products. He managed the marketing groups for these businesses, established operational and financial objectives, and provided general management for all units in the portfolio.
Cort also held the position of Vice President for IDC's Interactive Products and Services. He was responsible for the development, communication, and implementation of an interactive products strategy for IDC. This included the delivery of research and information to customers and prospects via the Web, Lotus Notes, and Intranet products, management of IDC's company web sites, and technical customer support teams.
At IDC, Cort has also previously held the post of Regional Marketing Director for IDC's Asia/Pacific operations. Under his direction, the marketing and business development activities were coordinated for the first time through all countries in the region. He launched IDC's regional events and conferences business in Asia/Pacific where he created and branded several multi-country sponsored events.
Prior to joining IDC, he also has held the position of General Manager and led online marketing consultants for the business solutions division of Chinadotcom, based in Singapore. He was also Associate Director at IDG Asia/Pacific based in San Mateo, California.
Cort holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management-Thunderbird, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration: International Business from Hawaii Pacific University.
Teng Fang Yih
Editor, MIS Asia
As of July 1, 2011, Teng Fang Yih is the Editor of MIS Asia. He started out as Features & Online Editor at PC World Singapore/Malaysia in 1995. In 1997, he went on to cover the manufacture and distribution of computer and communications hardware business in Asia for Eurotrade Computer and Eurotrade Communications, as the Regional Editor of both magazines. In late 1998, he became the Deputy Editor of ICommerce and SME IT Guide at IDG Communications (S) Pte Ltd.
In 1999, Fang Yih became the Deputy Editor of CIO Asia and co-authored the magazine's editorial formula. He took over as Editor at CIO Asia in 2000. When Fairfax Business Media secured the rights to publish CIO Asia in 2006, Fang Yih headed the title, and managed it till July 2007, after which he assumed responsibility for Computerworld Singapore and Computerworld Malaysia (August 2007-June 2011).
As the veteran editor for these highly acclaimed IT titles, Fang Yih regularly speaks at industry events and is sought after by IT vendors to deliver presentations on specialised technology and business topics.
Director ,Transformation Office and Business Process Development, CIMB Group
Devabalan Theyventheran’s role entails program management and implementation of the Group's strategic projects as detailed in the overall IT Masterplan, and driving operational synergy across various areas through business process reengineering initiatives. Devabalan is also part of the Group Information and Operations Division (GIOD) and is responsible for the operations and methods, process quality and reengineering, and policy and control functions of the Group. In addition, he serves as the principal regulatory liaison for the CIMB Group. In this capacity, he works closely with the various stakeholders in the areas of new business and product rollout, regulatory compliance, and advocating policy/rules changes as necessary in a changing regulatory and competitive landscape.
Prior to his current role, Devabalan held various positions in CIMB Group in a span of over 6 years. He was the Deputy CEO of iCIMB - a wholly owned subsidiary of CIMB Bank that delivers business process outsourcing solutions to the CIMB Group, Head of Strategic Information Services Department (SIS) in CIMB Investment Bank where he was responsible for group IT, legal services and process reengineering, and Assistant General Manager for Strategic Risk and Compliance where he identified and undertook risk-related and other internal consulting assignments.
CIO/VP, Regional IT Department, Asia Pacific Consumer Group, Johnson & Johnson
Ms Flora Ng is CIO/VP of Regional IT Department, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Asia Pacific since July 2010. She is also members of Johnson & Johnson’s Group of Consumer Companies Asia Pacific Leadership Team, AP Regional IT council and Consumer Global IT leadership team. Flora is an experienced I/T professional with 25 years in the field. In her most recent role as the Global Technology Integration Team Leader, Flora was responsible for implementing technology programs for the Global Human Resource organization as part of the overall Global Human Resource Transformation (GHRT) strategy. She was also responsible for all Corporate HR applications, including those supporting the Johnson & Johnson talent management and total rewards process. In 2009, Flora was honored with the Johnson & Johnson CIO Award for leading change with her work on the GHRT program.
Prior to joining the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies in January 2007, Flora held various I/T leadership positions at General Motors, Hackett Group, the Ontario Worker’s Compensation Board and Nortel Networks. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto in Canada and a Master’s Degree in Management of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Wu Choy Peng joined the NOL Group in July 2006 as the Group Chief Information Officer. Her responsibilities include overseeing strategy development, design and implementation for the Company’s wide range of information systems and processes, and ensuring that day-to-day business processes for the Group’s customers worldwide are streamlined and standardised. Before joining NOL, Ms Wu was the Singapore Government’s Chief Information Officer for six years, also holding the position of Deputy Chief Executive (Industry) of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. She was responsible for providing technical and project management leadership for IT systems and infrastructure shared across Government agencies. She worked for the Singapore Government for 19 years in total, in a wide variety of IT management roles.
Kuai Ser Leng

Mr Kuai Ser Leng is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Singapore Prison Service (SPS). With more than with 20 years in SPS in senior managerial positions before assuming CIO, he is responsible for directing and managing SPS’s technology investments and assets. Under his watch, information technology was strategic in supporting SPS business’s priorities and has achieved several milestones such as the formulation of technology road map, increased governance and information accessibility. K. R. Sanjiv is the Senior Vice President and Global Head for Analytics & Information Management service line, Wipro Technologies. He carries P&L responsibility, strategy and operations of this unit globally reporting to CEO.
Analytics & Information Management helps customers derive valuable insights out of integrated information by bringing together the combined expertise of Analytics, Business Intelligence, Performance Management and Information Management. The group provides consulting, business centric and technology specific analytical solutions and data management frameworks developed through a complete ecosystem of partners, focusing on industry specific analytics, optimization and operations analytics, Enterprise Data Warehouse, MDM, Data quality and data life cycle management.
Sanjiv has over 20 years of enterprise IT and security experience, including consulting, application and technology development that spans multiple industry segments and diverse technology areas. Since joining Wipro in 1989, Sanjiv has been involved in defining enterprise architectures for organizations that included technical models, transformation program definitions and governance models. He has designed OLTP mission critical systems such as screen-based trading systems for stock exchanges, surveillance systems and order routing systems for brokerage houses. He has spearheaded due diligence exercises in M&A situations for customers and also managed large project implementations in a global delivery model.
Prior to Wipro, Sanjiv worked for three years as a software engineer at DCM Data Products, a leading IT products and solution provider in India. Sanjiv has spoken at leading CXO summits, industry and academic conferences on varied topics related to Business Technology. He holds a bachelor's degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.

Kelly Brazil is the Director of Systems Engineering APAC for Palo Alto Networks whose career is dedicated to Enterprise and Carrier network design and security. He has spent the last twelve years educating customers on emerging technologies while working for networking vendors and service providers UUNET, Juniper Networks, and Palo Alto Networks. Kelly specializes in high-speed, highly-available data center security solutions and has been involved in the data center design and implementation for many well-known companies. CTO – Asia Pacific & Japan, Akamai Technologies
Alex Caro is Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Services for Akamai’s Asia-Pacific- Japan region. He is responsible for technical strategy and for all professional services teams across the region. He joined Akamai in 1999 as a Research Scientist to develop software technologies for Akamai's globally distributed intelligent platform. He has held a number of senior Engineering management positions at the company, leading various groups developing core global load balancing algorithms, data collection infrastructures, wide-area communication protocols, and system quality assurance. Prior to Akamai, Dr. Caro worked at several technology startups in the Boston area. He holds four degrees from MIT including a Ph.D. in Computer Science in the area of programming languages for massively parallel processors. He also completed the Greater Boston Executive Program from the Sloan School at MIT.

Raju Chellam is Cloud Practice Head for Dell’s South Asia and Korea region. Raju has 30 years’ experience in ICT industry in Asia. He was a member of Singapore’s National Grid Advisory Panel & is currently President of the Business Continuity Management Group at SCS & the Cloud Committee at SiTF. Raju was previously Managing Director of TechTrenders Asia, a boutique management advisory firm; and Head of Influencer Relations for the APJ region at HP. He was also the BizIT Editor with The Business Times in Singapore for a decade.

As the CTO for the TIBCO Asia region, Kevin Pool is responsible for helping TIBCO customers envision and execute on their corporate transformation objectives. Over the past 14 years he has worked with over 50 organizations on the vision and implementation of initiatives for taking their business to new levels of capability. Notable companies that Mr. Pool has had extensive involvement with include FedEx, Allstate, ING, Qwest Communications and AT&T. Prior to joining TIBCO, Mr. Pool lead development and integration organizations at Great-West Health Insurance and 360networks, and also built and led an integration professional services team which implemented order management and provisioning systems for Sprint, Level 3, Williams and Worldcom.

In the decade that Terry Smagh has been in the intelligence-on-demand segment, his knack for winning business through building robust, mutually-rewarding relationships with customers have enabled him to deliver continued profitable growth. Terry joined QlikTech in January 2010 when the company was launched in Singapore and successfully put the company in a position for growth. In the crucial first six months, Terry also identified key system integrators, and drove business revenue growth by 250% in the key markets of Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Terry‘s relationship with high-profile corporate contacts from past work experiences allowed him to secured major enterprise accounts for QlikView SENA.
In his current role as Vice-President of Sales, South East North Asia (SENA), Terry manages the company’s sales, Qonnect Partner Program, as well as other key operational, strategy and marketing functions. While the business of software has radically changed, Terry’s management and business philosophy has always been the time-tested formula of hands-on management, a perceptive awareness of industry news and trends and a nimble reflex to evolving technology trends and business needs.
Prior to QlikView, Terry was the Head of Channel Sales for South-East Asia/India for Informatica and was responsible for revenue generation and the establishment of market strategies for the regions. Beyond Informatica, Smagh honed his craft in many other tech enterprise companies such as Actuate Asia Pacific, Hyperion Solutions/Oracle and Stellent Inc.
Koh Eng Kiong
Regional Director, ASEAN, Compuware Asia
As Regional Director of ASEAN, Mr. Koh Eng Kiong is responsible for providing strategic direction and building Compuware’s market leadership in application management solutions throughout Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, where he is based. Eng Kiong oversees all aspects of the company's market-facing activities in the ASEAN region and is responsible for business and customer development. Eng Kiong joined Compuware as a Sales Manager in 2006 and was promoted to the role of Managing Director for Malaysia in April 2011. During his term as a Sales Manager, he achieved an outstanding performance of year on year consecutive growth for 5 years and helped many customers like Maybank, RHB, Sime Darby and the Employee Provident Fund of Malaysia in the implementation of their APM strategy. As the Managing Director for Malaysia, Eng Kiong was in charge of the development and management of the channel network in Malaysia. Willie Lim has worked in the field of information technology for over 20 years and is currently the technology and solutions manager for Fuji Xerox Singapore. Jack Tang is responsible for Application Platform and SQL Server marketing for Microsoft in the Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore. Tang has been with the company for 13 years, held various positions in product and business groups at the corporate headquarter in Redmond, Washington, USA. Prior to his current role, Tang worked in the SQL Server Business Group for 4 years leading a number of initiatives for customers and partners, including the launch of SQL Server Fast Track Data Warehousing and SQL Server 2008 R2. He also worked in Microsoft Office Division responsible for partner marketing for SharePoint Server and other Office products. Tang joined Microsoft in 1999 and was part of the Windows 2000 launch and product marketing team. Regional Director, Collaboration and Virtualisation Technologies, APJC, Cisco Systems
Peter Bocquet is the Regional Director for Collaboration and Virtualisation Technologies – which encompasses video, contact centre, conferencing and virtualisation platforms – for Cisco Systems across the APJC Region. In this role Peter has responsibility for the introduction and adoption of Cisco’s Collaboration technologies across all segments (Enterprise, Commercial and Service provider), industry verticals (FSI, Retail, Manufacturing, Public Sector) and geographies.
Understanding the impact of key transformational trends – such as Consumerisation of IT, BYOD, and the move to Pervasive Video - is a key requirement in this role, and as such Peter works closely with partners and customers to witness first-hand the impact of technology and social changes to our customers’ business. His focus from that point is to map technological capabilities against business requirements and desired outcomes for the customer.
Peter joined Cisco in January 2000 and has held a number of sales, channels and product development roles in Cisco’s Emerging Technologies sector – including the early days of IP Telephony (2001); Immersive TelePresence (2007) and most recently, Cisco’s VXI initiative. In addition to this experience, Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University and is currently working towards his MBA from INSEAD.

Satish Thiagarajan has over 21 years of experience across industries and IT involving, manufacturing, engineering consulting, management consulting and global IT industry experience involving business analysis, process re-engineering, concurrent multi-project delivery management, management of large application maintenance and transformational deals, sales management and leadership in complex cross-functional & global team matrix environments. Steve Lee Hee Kwang
CIO and Senior Vice President, Technology, Changi Airport Group
Steve Lee is currently the CIO and Senior Vice President, Technology at Changi Airport Group. His responsibilities includes: IT project management, operations and support, architecture and strategy for both airport operations and Corporate IT systems. Prior to joining CAG, Steve was the CIO at Kuok (Singapore) Ltd, a company with businesses in trading, shipping, logistics and other businesses across the region. He spent his earlier years in the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) where he held the post of Deputy Director, MINDEF CIO Office before leaving to join the private sector. Steve is also currently the Vice President of the IT Management Association (ITMA), Singapore and on the Advisory Committees of the Temasek Polytechnic, Informatics & IT School and Singapore Management University School of Information Systems. Steve is also a council member of the Singapore IT Standards Committee, and the Airport Council International (ACI) World IT Council.
